Funeral sheaves (also known as tied sheaves or hand-tied sheaves) are simple, elegant tributes arranged in a flat bouquet style and tied together with ribbon. Because they lie flat and need no vase or frame, they are a traditional choice for placing directly on the coffin or at the graveside, and are especially popular for cremation services. They can also be sent as a respectful tribute to the family home.
At Anastasia Florists we tie funeral sheaves in our Aberdeen flower shop using fresh, seasonal flowers in a choice of colours – from classic whites and greens to soft pastels or stronger, richer tones. Sheaves start from £30, and we recommend 2–3 days’ notice, though we can often accommodate orders placed by 12pm the day before the service — call 01224 622162. How much notice do you need and can a funeral sheaf be personalised?
We recommend ordering a few days before the funeral where possible, especially if you have particular flower or colour requests. However, we will always try to help with shorter notice if we can. Funeral sheaves can be personalised with a message card and, in some cases, ribbon sashes or small name details.
